According to Downdetector.com, the technology giant Meta server had recently crashed, affecting tens of thousands of users of the social networking platforms Facebook and Instagram.

According to Downdetector, over 113,000 reports appeared on Facebook during the peak of the malfunction and some 10,000 on Instagram. Since Downdetector ‘ s data are based on user-based reports, the number of users actually affected may vary.
Some 56 per cent of users reported on applications-related issues, making them the category most affected during the break. Another 27 per cent of the reports related to log-in problems, with some users indicating that they were unable to log in or access certain account-related functions. Meanwhile, 9 per cent of users reported on the Facebook site.

Several other users complained about the inability to load news streams, publish updates, upload photographs and videos, access personal data, send messages and share content.
This interruption appears to have affected users in a number of areas, and complaints have increased rapidly in a short period of time. Many users turn to other social media platforms to confirm whether Facebook is experiencing technical difficulties.
The surge in the number of reports indicates that the problem is not limited to specific equipment types or areas, and mobile applications and web users appear to have been affected.
