Mask confirmed that Tesla would work with Samsung to produce the next generation of AAI-AI6 at its chip manufacturing plant in Taylor, Texas, United States, and Mask indicated that he would personally participate in its production process to ensure smooth progress. At the same time, the world ‘ s largest chip-based industrial plant will be responsible for producing the current generation of AI5 chips.

The AI chip agreement between Tesla and Samsung has been a rare victory for the three stars that have continued to lag behind the build-up of power in recent years. According to Bloomberg, the transaction was worth $16.5 billion. After the announcement, Samsung stock prices increased by 2.5 per cent in the Korean market.
Mask confirmed this cooperation on social platform X and noted that the value of the transaction “was well above $16.5 billion”. He indicated that Samsung would be responsible for the production of Tesla’s next generation chip (AI6), while the build-up of power continued to produce current generation hardware (AI5). “The $16.5 billion is a minimum guarantee and the actual output is likely to be several times higher.”

Tesla currently carries an A3 chip. The company believes that the upcoming launch of the AI5 chip will become its state-of-the-art processor and may even be subject to United States export controls. Musque revealed at the Tesla News Conference that the AI chip “is expected to be invested in large-scale production around the end of next year”. Hardware upgrades have been at the centre of Tesla ‘ s concerns, and it is difficult for early vehicles carrying old chips to match up-to-date fully automated driving platforms. Key AA5 chips are considered to be self-pilot, and Mask has confirmed that there will be a build-up.
Mask confirmed reports from Bloomberg that the electricity stock would later be transferred to the Arizona plant to produce the A5 chip. He said the chips were “just finished with the design.” And Samsung was assigned responsibility for making earlier-generation AI4 processors. The Arizona plant, which is the most advanced manufacturing base, currently produces chips using N4 technology.

It is known that the A5 chip will be manufactured using 3 nanometer (N)-based technology, and unverified reports indicate that its reasoning computer can perform up to 25 trillion operations per second. It is essential that the tristar-made A6 chip is identified and is expected to become a unified platform to meet the reasoning needs of Tesla cars and Optimus human robots.
Mask added that Samsung would make Tesla’s next-generation A6 chip. “The strategic importance of this is incalculable”, he said, “the Samsung agreed to allow Tesla to help maximize production efficiency”. Mask points out that allowing Tesla to participate in chip production is an important element of the transaction – he not only “hand-in-hand” to accelerate progress, but also “the geographical location of the plant (in Taylor City) is not far from my residence in Texas”.

Mask has used Texas as an operating base because of the Bocachka base near SpaceX – His rocket company is here to develop the world’s largest rocket, Starship, for interstellar missions.
