According to the official Nintendo address, the first four days of sales of the Switch 2 hosts under the flag have exceeded 3.5 million, making it the fastest-selling Nintendo game host in the world, surpassing the first-generation Switch (2.8 million in the first week of 2017) and Wii (3.6 million in the first week of 2006). Switch 2 was sold globally in sync on June 6, at a price of $399 (approximately 2800 yuan), the first to cover North American, European, Japanese and other Asian markets. This remarkable achievement was largely the result of Nintendo ‘ s long-standing strong brand appeal and the availability of sufficient supplies to address the supply shortages that had often faced Nintendo and its competitors ‘ new hardware.

The chief executive officer and founder of the game industry consulting company Kantan Games, Serkan Toto, stated that “the market looks forward to a record of paradise, which has proved to be a real success. All the signals prior to the release indicate that there is a great need, and I am confident that we will see more records broken in the coming weeks or months.”
Switch 2 was widely welcomed after it was released, and people lined up in Nintendo for hours before midnight. Toto asserted that the sales of Switch 2 would exceed 20 million in the 12 months following its listing. The MST Financial Senior Research Analyst, David Gibson, expects to sell Switch 2 to 20 million by March 2026.

Switch 2 initial sales also confirmed Doug Bowser’s earlier commitment to ensure that the supply of Switch 2 in the United States market meets demand. He said: “The fans from all over the world have shown enthusiasm for Nintendo Switch 2 as an upgraded way of playing games at home and on their journey.”
According to IGN ‘ s assessment, the Switch 2 mainframe is largely in line with expectations: it is an iterative upgrade of a masterly Nintendo host, modernizing many highly outdated aspects, improving numerous design elements in a subtle but significant way, and experimenting with a truly impressive new manipulation programme, even though its running flow is not yet fully up to expectations.

It remains to be seen whether Switch 2 will be able to recreate the glory of the past. The previous generation of hosts, Switch, had a record annual sales of 15 million. After that, the total sales exceeded 152 million, making it the second highest in the history of Nintendo, after Nintendo DS.
